In general, it's great having Jesse L, Martin back in action after having to sit out so much of Season 5. Meanwhile, *that* Barry/Joe scene may well be the defining moment of Season 6 to date. This episode in particularly plays nicely on that BFF dynamic that exists between Barry and Cisco but hasn't really been exploited since the early weeks of Season 3. This season is making the most out of Barry confronting his seemingly inevitable death and the struggle to convince his friends and family to do the same. "There Will Be Blood" manages to be relevant both in terms of plot (particularly with that closing stinger scene) and in the emotional arc of Team Flash. In addition to fleshing out the Barry/Ramsey dynamic, this episode also continues the season's strong buildup to Crisis. We've seen in the past that Barry can move fast enough to literally freeze time around him, yet he can't move quickly enough to stop Ramsey from injecting someone? Granted, for dramatic purposes Barry's speed potential has always been somewhat context-specific, but it's still strange to see the Fastest Man Alive stymied by a doctor with a well-practiced thumb. This episode does stumble a bit during the dramatic showdown between Flash and Ramsey, however. I'm looking forward to seeing how the show depicts his full metahuman transformation. Ramsey may be far from the most physically threatening Flash villain so far, but there's something genuinely creepy about the undead drones he leaves in his wake.

It should also be said that the sporadic blood zombie scenes tend to work well in terms of injecting a dose of horror into the mix. The buildup to Crisis means The Flash has to maintain a brisk pace, but there's still plenty of room to develop this character and make his downfall mean something. The season continues to maintain a strong balance with the Ramsey storyline. Ramsey's downfall becomes all the more tragic as Barry hands him the key to his survival, only for Ramsey to reject it and continue his journey down the rabbit hole. In a show where so many of the major villains are linked to Barry by killing someone he cares about, it's a nice twist to see Barry's latest nemesis cast as a friend he failed to save.

This episode continues forging that crucial bond between Barry and Ramsey.
